How We’ve Made a Difference Together: Countdown to Giving Tuesday

Dear Reader,

As Giving Tuesday approaches, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the incredible impact we’ve made together this year. Your generous support has empowered first-generation and marginalized students to overcome barriers and achieve their dreams.

The Power of Our Partnership

Here’s what we’ve accomplished together in 2024:

  • 2,313 Essay Drafts Reviewed: Helping students craft compelling stories that open doors to their dream schools.
  • 204 Students Supported with 1:1 Guidance: Providing personalized help through the complex college and law school application processes.
  • 500+ Students Enrolled in Asynchronous Courses: Offering flexible resources to help students succeed.
  • 2,100+ Students Served in Online Conferences and Webinars: Empowering students with tools, mentorship, and community.

These achievements are a testament to the generosity of supporters like you. Together, we’re breaking barriers and transforming lives.

Why Giving Tuesday Matters

Giving Tuesday is a global day of generosity—a chance for us to unite and make an even greater impact. This year, we’re aiming to raise $75,000 by December 31st to expand our programs and support even more students.

How You Can Help

Your continued support will keep this momentum going. Here’s how to get involved:

  • Donate: As we head into the giving season, we’re grateful for donations of any size. Your donation can directly impact the lives of first-generation and marginalized students, providing them with the resources they need to succeed. This year, our Board of Directors is matching the first $10,000 made through the end of 2024 to help us reach out $75,000 goal. These gifts help to strengthen and support our Outreach and Wellness Program, create an Emergency Fund for our students, and expand our pro bono support to low-income students. Your generosity fuels this work and ensures we can continue breaking barriers for first-generation and marginalized students.
  • Spread the Word: Share our mission with your network to amplify the impact.
  • Volunteer Committees: If you’re interested in volunteering, we’d love to discuss opportunities with you.
  • Advisory Board Recruitment: We’re currently recruiting additional Advisory Board members for 2025. Let us know if you’d like to explore this opportunity.

Thank you for being an essential part of the Barrier Breakers family. Your generosity has already made a tremendous difference, and we’re excited to see what we can accomplish together on Giving Tuesday and beyond.
